Watseka and Gifford-Flatville split an Eastern Illinois League doubleheader in Gifford on Sunday, the visiting Angels winning the opener 3-1 before the host Gif-Flats responded with a 2-1 win in Game 2.
Watseka broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the eighth inning of Game 1. Seth Woods earned the win, while Dane Krone took the loss. In Game 2, Watseka had an early 1-0 lead, but Gifford-Flatville scored twice in the third inning and the pitchers controlled the way for the rest of the game.
