Romshek comes through in clutch for GCMS softball

Regan Romshek came up huge for the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley varsity softball team in its Heart of Illinios Conference opener.

The senior right-hander struck out 17 batters in throwing a complete-game shutout and drove in the game’s only run with an RBI single in extra innings to lead her squad to a 1-0 win in eight innings against Tri-Valley in Downs on Monday. In beating the Lady Vikings, the Lady Falcons picked up a win against one of its top competitors in the conference race.

On March 27, GCMS was a 15-0 victor against Milford in five innings in Gibson City.

Romshek threw and no-hitter and struck out 11 in moving to 4-2. The Lady Falcons scored at least three runs in every inning, led by Kaiti Bowen’s two hits and four RBIs. Jessica Hunter added three RBIs, and Romshek doubled and tripled in the win.
