GIBSON CITY — After three matches, the Falcons finally achieved their first victory of the season, defeating Donovan by a score of 22-25, 25-23, 25-20.
Payton Baillie finished the match with a total of 17 assists.
Tori Gaesser was the team leader in kills with six. Allyson Barnes recorded 12 digs.
Sydney Vetter contributed three aces.
With the win, GCMS improved its record to 1-2. The Falcons will play in Tremont on Tuesday.
They will travel to Mackinaw for a matchup against Deer Creek-Mackinaw on Thursday.
The junior varsity team, meanwhile, achieved victory as well.
They won in two sets by a score of 25-17, 25-18.
Blythe Borton recorded 15 assists. Brea Walker had six kills while Hannah Kollross finished the match with five aces.
