GCMS/Fisher state wrestling update: Wallick advances to semifinals; Schwing to quarterfinal wrestlebacks

CHAMPAIGN — Josh Wallick (48-0) of the 285-pound division won his quarterfinal match in the IHSA state meet over Plano's Junior Nunez (28-8) via 5-1 decision.

He will face Ben Corlett (37-4) in the Class 1A semifinals, which begin at 7 p.m. tonight.

Cameron Schwing (42-5) advances to quarterfinal wrestlebacks in the 113-pound class after winning a 12-3 major decision over Roxana's Jeremy O'Gara (34-11). He will face Belleville Althoff's Jarrid Braunagel (31-4) in quarterfinal wrestlebacks, which start at 9 a.m. Saturday.
