GCMS/Fisher Middle School wrestler Cale Horsch finishes with third-place medal in IESA state meet

DEKALB -- Cale Horsch of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley/Fisher Middle School wrestling team finished with a third-place medal in the 85-pound bracket of the IESA state meet.
 
Horsch won via 10-2 major decision in the third-place match over Morrison's Colton Linke.
 
In the first round, Cale Horsch pinned Woodridge Jefferson's Luke Swan in 39 seconds. Horsch won via 9-0 major decision over Braidwood Reed-Custer's Ryan Tribble in the quarterfinals before losing via 1-0 decision in the semifinals to DeKalb Huntley's Blake McGee.
 
Kaden Gream lost via 6-4 decision to Cahokia Wirth's Xavier Vinson in the first round of the 100-pound bracket.
 
In the preliminary round of wrestlebacks, Connor Huston of Coal City defeated Gream via 11-6 decision.
